EAT
Innovation is an important chapter in business’s holy books. If you want your company to succeed or your book or your program or whatever object you fancy taking out there to the market, you must be able to offer something innovative.Something that is hard to create with the infinite world of the web offering for sale the fabric from which our wildest dreams are made of. Nothing seems to be impossible anymore thanks to Google, Amazon, Wikipedia and company. Searching for the holy grail would not have taken Arthur and his knights more than a night or two over a computer and a pile of red bulls. Still, the laws of offer and demand do not seem to be regulating society’s state of mind so well. I’m sorry to say that filling our houses with “cool, different, new ” objects is not proving to be beneficial either to our race or planet. Suicide rates are up parallel to social uprisings and economic crises. Earth is warming at an alarming speed, natural phenomenas are occurring more often and beasts and plants are morphing into photographs in scientist’s memory. Further more news are given to us every time we blink through immediate web news channels or Twitter. We are overloaded with information but starving for knowledge. If only things were new and hip forever maybe the price would be justifiable but they are not. Because of this ephemerality behind the concept of innovation, it most be done striving for more than the five seconds it will last as such. Creators that feed the market, what you produce is not a miracle of divine illumination. Image creation is a circle, what you consume to create has eaten other content as well and so it goes on and on and on ad nauseum. Eat carefully, choose your mental food as a a starving gourmet expert. Go to museums, read books, magazines. Enjoy films, dance to your Grooveshark radio station, debate with new people. What you consume will be reflected in your creations. Believe it or not innovation is just that, knowing how to mix the right concepts to create a new one. Anyone can create something that appears to be new, but the mixture of new and quality-that is harder. Give out meaningful content, feed famishing souls, please eat.
